Terms of use and sale

1. Purpose
These terms of use and sale govern the use of Compta By Monsieur S, an online personal finance service published by [to be completed], and the subscription to Premium. Creating an account implies acceptance of these terms.
2. User account
The service is intended for individuals, to manage their personal finances. Registration is free and requires a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in methods (password, passkey, Google account) confidential and for actions taken from your account; let us know without delay of any unauthorised use.
3. Free plan and Premium
The free plan has no time limit. It includes up to 2 bank accounts (archived ones included), in euros, a history of the current month and the previous 3 months, and up to 3 net worth items.
The Premium subscription lifts these limits and gives access to the features marked with a crown (schedules and forecast, budgets, loans, statement import, multi-year trends…).

4. Subscription, prices and cancellation
Two plans are offered: €3 every 28 days, or €33 per year. Net prices: VAT not applicable, article 293 B of the French General Tax Code.
Payment is made by card, through a secure payment provider, at the start of each period. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the same price, until cancelled. Before a yearly subscription renews, an email reminds you at least one month in advance.
You can cancel at any time from your account: Premium remains active until the end of the paid period, which is not refunded, and no further payment is taken. A price change only applies from the next period, after informing you at least one month in advance; you may then cancel.
5. Right of withdrawal
You have 14 days from subscribing to withdraw, without giving any reason, by writing to [to be completed]. By subscribing, you ask to enjoy Premium immediately: if you withdraw, the price is refunded in proportion to the remaining period, within 14 days, using the payment method used.
6. Badges and rewards
Badges earned by keeping your accounts may grant free days or months of Premium, which extend the current period. These rewards are personal, have no monetary value, and cannot be exchanged or refunded. The badge and reward catalogue may change; rewards already earned remain yours. A reward obtained fraudulently (circumventing the service, multiple accounts) may be withdrawn.
7. Use of the service
You agree to use the service lawfully and for its intended purpose: not to try to access other users' data, not to disrupt its operation (automated requests, overload, probing for vulnerabilities outside a bug report), and not to store unlawful content in it.
8. Nature of the service
Compta By Monsieur S is a tracking tool: it does not connect to your banks and performs no banking transactions. Balances, forecasts, amortisation tables, budgets and statistics are computed from the information you enter or import, for information only; they do not replace your bank statements and are not financial, tax or investment advice.
9. Availability and liability
We do our best to keep the service available and your data protected and backed up, without being able to guarantee permanent availability: the service may be interrupted for maintenance or in case of an incident. Reminders and alerts (emails, notifications) are an aid: their delivery also depends on your device, your browser and their services, and is not guaranteed; they do not replace keeping an eye on your accounts. We cannot be held liable for a decision made on the basis of the service's calculations, nor for temporary unavailability or a reminder not received. These limits do not apply in case of gross negligence or wilful misconduct, nor to the rights the law grants you as a consumer.
10. Account deletion and suspension
You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time: your data is then erased as described in the privacy policy, and an ongoing subscription ends without refund of the current period. In case of a serious breach of these terms, we may suspend or close your account after warning you by email, except in an emergency (threat to the security of the service).
11. Complaints and mediation

If no amicable solution is found within two months, you may refer the matter free of charge to the consumer mediator: [to be completed] ([to be completed]).
12. Changes to the terms
These terms may change, in particular to follow changes in the service or the law. New terms are sent to you at least 30 days before they take effect; if you refuse them, you may cancel your subscription and delete your account.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Failing an amicable solution, any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the French courts; as a consumer, you may bring proceedings before the court of your place of residence.
