Export your Shine transactions

How to download the transactions of your Shine account to import them into personal finance software, a spreadsheet or our app, and which format to choose.

Download your transactions from Shine

  1. Log in to the Shine web app.
  2. Open the “Transactions” tab, then click “Exporter mes données”.
  3. Choose one of the formats offered: CSV, OFX or QIF.

Shine also offers an accounting export (“Rapport” tab, “Export comptable”, then “Générer un export comptable”; in the mobile app: “Plus”, “Comptabilité”). In CSV, two date columns: the initiation date and the value date; in OFX and QIF, only the validation date, the one on bank statements.

Formats offered

  • CSV: spreadsheet, or direct import into the app
  • OFX: standard format of personal finance software (Money, GnuCash…)
  • QIF: older Quicken format, still read by many programs

Shine offers OFX: that is the format to choose for personal finance software. For our app, CSV, OFX and QIF all work.

Track your Shine accounts without handing over your login details

  • The app reads your bank's CSV, OFX or QIF directly and leaves out transactions already entered.
  • Payees and categories are found automatically from your past transactions.
  • Tick off, reconcile with your statement, follow budgets and forecasts, on computer and mobile.

Frequently asked questions about exporting from Shine

Over what period can I export my Shine transactions?
You choose the period when downloading; the history available depends on your bank and contract. To keep track of your accounts, export regularly, for instance every month: when importing into our app, transactions already entered are detected and not added twice.
What about deferred debit card payments?
Deferred debit card payments are only debited from the account once a month, in a single payment. Depending on your bank, their details are downloaded from the account or from the card page. In our app, a deferred debit card is a separate account whose total is debited automatically from the current account.
Can I import a Shine PDF statement?
No: a PDF statement is meant to be read or printed, not imported. Download your transactions in a data format (CSV, OFX or QIF) by following the steps above instead.
CSV or OFX: which format should I choose?
OFX is the standard format of personal finance software: it is read without any setup. CSV opens in a spreadsheet, but each bank lays it out its own way. The free converter turns a CSV or QIF into OFX, and our app's import accepts all three formats.
